My short story, “Miscarriage of Justice,” is being reprinted by Aeon Speculative Fiction under its original title “Life Sentences.” The story originally appeared on Salon.com, and I’m very pleased it’s found a new, SF-nal home at Aeon.

My novelette, “Entropy’s Girlfriend,” which originally appeared in the October 2005 issue of Analog magazine, has been reprinted in the Russian science fiction magazine Esli (“If”). I don’t yet know exactly how one gets a copywhen I find out I’ll post the details here.
On another note: to those of you who’ve noticed my almost complete absence from LiveJournal, I wanted to say that it’s because of a new and all-consuming job as the editor of internal publications for a university. I’ll be more visible in my blog and your comments sections soon.

This has been a good week for writing. My novelette, “Entropy’s Girlfriend,” has been accepted for publication in Analog. This is my third sale to Analog, and the first after a long hiatus from fiction writing, so it’s especially satisfying news for me.

The 8TH OF FEBRUARY GROUP is a private writing workshop specializing in science fiction and fantasy which meets monthly in Manhattan. It is named for Jules Verne, the genre pioneer who was born on that date in 1828. The workshop was founded by Robert J. Howe and William Shunn, both 1985 graduates of the Clarion Workshop, and has just celebrated its first anniversary.
