Zoot
April 2003October 2005
Zoot (
I don’t know what the cause of death was: I found her on the floor next to the couch, with no apparent injuries, when I woke up in the morning. When I’d gone to sleep a few hours earlier she was as affectionate and playful as alwaysthe picture of rude feline health. Losing her is a blow, and I miss her. I’m posting this because I’m retiring her blog, and I wanted to let folks know why.

I am so, so sorry.

Hardest of all to lose a pet so unexpectedly. I’ll be thinking of you both tonight.

Oh my god I’m so sorry ๐ ๐ ๐ Poor Zoot. My condolences to you my friend. So sorry.

Very sorry to hear of your loss.
Pardon me while I go hug my own cats and sniffle.

Shit. I don’t know what to say.

It’s sad to lose a pet so suddenly. I’ll miss her rude comments. They were such a treat.

I know I’m just another hairless person, but I will miss the Zoot too.

Bob, I’m so sorry. I never met her in the flesh, but I got a strong sense of her through her blog. She was one of a kind. I will miss her.
Keeping you in my thoughts.

I raise the finger for cruel entities who would deign to kill great pets.
Zoot? You were one of a kind. I am so, so sorry, Bob.

Bob, I’m so sorry to hear this. We adopted our own Luna in similar circumstances around the same time. I’m glad you were able to give her a safe home and the time she might not have had otherwise.

I’m so sorry for your loss.

It’s so sad; I’m so sorry. I had to put my kitty of 13 years down earlier this year, and it was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. Amazing how much these little furry people become part of our lives.

That crazy little lump under the covers will be missed.

I found you through‘s journal and just wanted to say that my heart goes out to you. What a sweet-faced kitty and what a great name.

We’ll all miss Zoot. I’m so sorry.

Oh, man. Our thoughts and warm feelings go to you. Apparently she passed peacefully, so there’s some comfort in that.
Now I have an urge to go find MeToo and listen to her purr on my lap.

*toasts* May you be reunited with her on the other side of Rainbow Bridge. *goes to cuddle own furries*

Oh, Bob, I am so so sorry. Zoot made my life happier through my darkest hours. I will think of her and of you. What a good (well good for cats) girl she was.

I’ve been typing and deleting and retyping dozens of times. Nothing does any good. We are somewhat used to putting animals down, dealing with our grief in a hospital setting, but nothing prepares us for a death at home.
You were a wonderful father to that little kitten, as you were to Baby, and you saved her life. I think she knew that and was grateful, perhaps even a bit resentful at being indebted to a hairless monkey. The length of her life was woefully short, but she was happy, and if that isn’t the true measure of a life, I don’t know what is. I have no proof of this, but I also have no doubts.
She was a beautiful girl, and she will be missed. I’m so sorry, times a thousand, that she was taken from you.
weaselmom
Oh no. I am so sorry that she is gone. She wrote like a furry little Dorothy Parker, but I am sure she was a sweet and loving soul. Her life with you was the greatest thing that could have happened for her during her time here. We will be thinking of you here in the Weaselden.

I am sorry to hear of your loss. It is so sad to lose a friend and loved one so suddenly. My deepest sympathies to you.

So sorry. It’s hard to lose our companians, especially when they write so well. She had a great extra two years that you gave her by saving her.

i’m very sorry to hear for your loss…there’s nothing words can do to help you truly heal from something like this, but my thoughts are with you and zoot. ๐

Bob, I’m so sorry to hear this – I could tell from “her” blog that you two were very loving and affectionate with one another. She was obviously a very special kitty.
From previous experience, I know that losing a beloved kitty is very very difficult. My only word of advise is to think about getting a new kitty (or two, or three!) soon.

So sorry to hear the sad news. Two is way too young. My condolences to you.

Dear Bob –
I’m so sorry to hear about your loss. Tatsuko has brought me sanity so many times lately; I can’t imagine what it’ll be like to finally lose her. My Helen was so dear to me. People with children perhaps don’t realize how important our pets are to us.
I’ll miss her LJ comments, too.
Love (in a masculine, heterosexual manner),

I came by way of‘s site. Very sorry for your loss. I almost lost my most recent little foundling last year due to a vaccine reaction, and it was very frightening, to say the least. The House of the Feline Four mourns with you.

I also came by way of‘s journal. Sorry about Zoot.
Blessed be her next life, which transcends the other nine she had among us.

Condolences
Bob, this is Godzilla.
My deepest sympathies over Zoot. She was adorable, and I’m sorry I never got to meet her in person.
I can think of nothing to say, except the usual cliches. Pets can be the such exceedingly good friends, closer than many human friends, and it’s hard to bear their loss.
You rescued her and made her happy her whole life, though. That’s important to remember.
Deepest condolences,
Mary T
